If I were to get an award today, if I were to be recognized for whatever reason the world may finally decide to see my awesomeness, there would be lots of surprises in my acceptance speech. You know how everyone says; "First of all I'd like to give thanks to the almighty for having made this possible...I'd like to thank my cat-scratch that, I hate cats...I'd like to thank my dog Snoopy for staying up with me all night....well, I'd drop names no one expects. You see in my journey, I have met incredible people who may not know just how much impact they have had in my life. Yes we may have clashed at some point and I'm pretty sure some think I have forgotten them but I never do. I'm the kind of person that learns details about others by observing. If I have interacted with you for at least 3 months, be assured I know quite a bit about the kind of person you are.
Anyway, this post today is about appreciating y'all seeing as the world cannot handle my awesomeness and give me an Oscar or something. I'm gonna mention you guys anyway but there are people who may never be able to see this but I do hope one day I can tell them.
First in my list is a lady called Wangeci. I have never met a more jovial person in my life. I met Wangeci while working as video editor. She was about to get married and the prettiest, happiest bride I have ever met-and believe me I have met over 100 of them. She was among the first brides whose videos I edited and she is among the very few whose names I can remember and even the music I used for her videos. Wangeci made me want to be a happier person regardless of my situation.I swore that I would strive to be more like her.
Then there is Fiona whom I worked with for a while. She brought life to my ever boring routine. Fiona always had a plan and an event to attend haha! I hope I'm allowed to write that. I may not be the kind of person that's very outgoing but she livened up my life quite a bit. And from her I also learnt that things may be tough but you get up in the morning, dress up, look glam and go kick ass. We had fun and a lot of laughter in the office. I still miss her. At this point, it is important that I mention Cynthia. I also worked with Cynthia who is quite the character :-). And this girl can talk!!! She taught me the same thing; what matters is to wake up, look amazing and kick ass. It doesn't matter how much you earn or whatever else is happening...
Nemo- Where to start...we got really frustrated together but all the same we did have good times.I know you didn't know this Nemo but from you I learnt that people will either like you or hate you and it's their problem if they don't like you. Also, what's the worst that could happen? Haha! Another fun person to be around and very friendly too. Thanks for listening to my ranting about you know what and who haha! Gosh didn't we have too many bosses. Only one paid me though lol!
Sally- Yes, this may be a big surprise for you but I learnt a lot form you too. I learnt to focus on what I want and pursue it regardless. I admired your creativity too and every day I knew that the only important thing to do is to get better at what I do and enjoy it. From you I learnt a lot of photoshop too and you would be happy to hear that I'm pretty good at it now :-) and most importantly I learnt this; Never beg for a job lol!
This post is already too long so let's pretend I was only given 3 min to give that acceptance speech. I will remember to thank all the others soon. For now, thank you guys for all these bits and pieces of you that I borrowed to make a better me. God Bless you and stay awesome coz that's what we are; AWESOME!
